Walk & Talk: Nature and the Unexpected

September 25, 2014, 6:00 PM

The High Line is composed of layers – of history, nature, art, design – stacked on top of one another. Inspired by this idea, Walk & Talks bring together duos of thinkers, tinkerers, artists and community members from disparate fields for a mobile, creative conversation.

For this installment of Walk & Talk, artist Mark Dion and Cecilia Alemani, the Donald R. Mullen, Jr. Curator & Director of High Line Art, explore the places in which art and the natural world collide. Based off of Dion’s widely popular book on the High Line, “A Field Guide & Handbook,” the conversation will explore curiosities of science, nature, and art, and discuss the official and unofficial histories that shape our perceptions of the city.

For the launch of this series, several High Line staff members will host a partner of their choosing for a strolling interview in the Rail Yards. To keep these conversations intimate, no more than 20 spots will be set aside for attendees.
