Migratory Patterns & Other Works - MOVED TO RAIN DATE ON OCTOBER 6

Friday, September 29, 2023
6 – 8pm
Location
On the High Line at 14th Street

Due to inclement weather, this event will take place on the rain date of October 6 at 6pm. If you’ve previously RSVPed, your reservation will automatically transfer to the new date.

Join us as Matthew Westerby Company and Hudson Guild Theatre Company return to the High Line for a free, one-evening-only staging of a new performance, set to a live score by John P. Hastings and Travis Just.

Migratory Patterns is a new work by choreographer Matthew Westerby, in collaboration with co-producer Jim Furlong. The production is performed by a multi-generational cast of professional dancers alongside community dancers from Hudson Guild Theatre Company, and set to a commissioned score played live by composers John P. Hastings and Travis Just. Inspired by the phenomenon of migration, the piece represents the personal heritage and identity of each performer. The content was developed through creative workshops that facilitated dialogue, movement making, and collaboration across the spectrum of age and experience., The program also features the premiere of a new duet titled Autonomous States and a performance by MWC 2.
